Between July and August 2010 we had the first Focuss.Info experience in Bolivia. It has been the first workshop of its kind delivered in South America and the first in other language than English. Further down and clicking on other pages all information, materials and feedback is available for readers to check out, download and replicate in their own countries.

As a workshop facilitator I believe the experience contributes to expand information sharing, enhances the boundaries of collaboration and boosts an alternative approach for social research in developing countries.

We are now drafting projects for 2011. I have contacted people in Ecuador and Colombia who are very interested in delivering the workshop in their countries, I also want to have another workshop (this time away from La Paz, hopefully in a Peripheral town) as well as open activities for researchers and academics to approach and adopt open Social-Media-based tools in their daily work.

All the best for the year to come from Bolivia!

Bienvenid@s! / Welcome!

Welcome to the first Focuss workshop on information sharing and networking tools in South America.

The initiative in Bolivia aims to improve/facilitate the access of information, to expand the possibilities to share knowledge and overall cooperation practices among researchers, development and cooperation workers, students, scholars, journalists and others engaged in the domain of development, which will increase the quality of the research environment and broaden the methodological spectrum.
